If First Fridays and local art galleries don’t fulfill your creative desire, we encourage you to check out the local art scene in the small, yet charming town of Fuquay-Varina! Every month, the Fuquay-Varina Arts Council hosts Art After Dark, an artist’s and crafter’s market paradise that allows local artists to showcase and sell their work, communicate with other creative individuals, and gain exposure in the art world.
The market takes place every second Friday of the month, running from April through September, with a special holiday fair in December. There are two more dates in 2015 to enjoy the regular Art After Dark fair, and we hope that you will attend at least one! The event begins at 5:00 p.m., and usually ends around 9:00.
Art After Dark is free for patrons, and $10 for artists looking to register and sell their work. Registration is free for Arts Council Members. If you are an artist that would like to register, you will need an NC Sales and Use Tax Number, or at least have completed the application for one. You are also required to bring your own tables, chairs, tents, lighting, and any other materials you need for your display. As an artist, you must be present to sell your original work! And for reference, display spaces are limited to 10ft by 10ft blocks.
In August, Art After Dark will take place on Friday, August 14 at Centennial Square at 102 Main Street. We love that our Triangle area embraces the local businesses and artists that call it home, and we are always happy to share them with you.
