We are fairly certain that there aren’t many people out there that like to see the beach season come to an end. The people of Wake Forest intend to make sure that the end of August is synonymous with fond beach memories for all.
On Saturday, August 22, Wake Forest Downtown, Inc. will present its first annual Beach Night on White, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on South White Street. The event will be free, and a portion of the street will be closed to vehicle traffic.
Beginning at 4:00 p.m., patrons can walk the streets of Downtown Wake Forest, visiting a wide variety of local businesses and shops within the historic downtown area to soak up all that is special about the small town. The Wakefield Rotary Club will sell refreshments to benefit the local Boys & Girls Club, and food truck vendors will be ready and waiting on Owen street to share their creations.
At 5:00 p.m., the featured band Jim Quick and the Coastline Band will begin their set of beach tunes. Jim Quick is known throughout the Carolinas for being a solid entertainer, providing energetic and fun performances.
Come out to end the season on a high note and make memories that will carry you through until next summer!
