In a recently-published article by Business Insider, Raleigh has received yet another accolade. Locals are familiar with the trendy and popular Angus Barn, but now the restaurant has landed its well-deserved place among the 50 states’ best steakhouses.
The Angus Barn is no stranger to high praise. It is a recipient of the coveted Gold Plate Award, and has been featured on CBS’s 48 Hours with Dan Rather. But it’s not the accolades that keep the tradition and comfortable feel going here. Countless Raleighites consistently praise the Angus Barn as one of the “must-visit” places in the Triangle area. Millions have flocked to the steakhouse since its opening in 1960 to see what the hype is about, and they are not disappointed.
Thad Eure, Jr. and Charles Winston, the founders of the Angus Barn, established a client philosophy that still rings true to this day: “Incomparable hospitality; excellent value; a meal of impeccable quality; and the rich, rustic Americana ambiance for which the Barn is now known across the globe,” a quote from the Angus Barn site.
Today, according to the Angus Barn’s website, they serve around 22,000 steaks per month. However, the menu has expanded to suit other dietary preferences and needs, offering a variety of seafoods, poultry and pasta.
The Angus Barn is located at 9401 Glenwood Avenue in Raleigh. The Wild Turkey Lounge is open Monday through Saturday from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., and on Sunday until 10:00 p.m..
