Top 30 North Carolina tourist attractions

The Triangle once again dominates the list of North Carolina’s most visited historic tourist attractions in 2016.  You don’t want to miss these!

In the top 30, four attractions are in Raleigh, with one each in Durham and Chapel Hill.

The top tourist attraction, for the third year in a row, is in Raleigh. The Biltmore in Asheville had long been at the top since the list began 13 years ago, but is no longer counted among the popular attractions because it stopped reporting attendance totals.

Make Monday Night Date Night at Beyù Caffè

At the beginning of the work week, we often overlook Monday as an opportunity to go out. However, at Beyù Caffè, Monday nights are consistently alive with acoustic jazz music.

Nestled in the main hub of Durham, Beyù (pronounced be-you) successfully combines the atmospheres of coffee shop, bar, night club and restaurant. The cafe offers a full menu weekly, with special brunch offerings on the weekend as a restaurant venture. As a cafe, it offers locally-roasted coffee, to traditional and signature beverages. But there is more – Beyù has a full range of wines, craft beers, cocktails and martinis, and is home to a night club that brings in award-winning artists as well as students and local acts.

Beyù Caffè has been awarded numerous times, with praise as best place for jazz in the Triangle, a highlighted company within the city, and as a consistently written-about venue in multiple journals and publications. Dorian Bolden, the owner of Beyù Caffè, emphasizes that it is a space where people can be themselves, and he constantly strives to make his business the ultimate gathering place where, as the name suggests, you can just be you.

Every Monday night, the cafe is open for acoustic jazz sets, with tickets being sold within the venue, online or over the phone. Seating is first-come, first-serve, and the venue is billed as an all-ages place. Events begin around 7:00 p.m. and run for a few hours into the evening. This is a perfect setup for a gathering of friends, family, and couples that want to enjoy great atmosphere and stylish jazz. Be sure to check out the calendar of events on the cafe website, listed below, for a full range of jazz acts during the year.
